DMPTool is a free, open-source, online application to help researchers create data management plans that comply with the National Institutes of Health (NIH) Data Management and Sharing (DMS) Policy requirements.
What is the DMPTool?
The DMPTool is a service, run by the California Digital Library, for creating a DMS Plan. It includes a click-through wizard with templates to guide researchers through the process of creating a DMS Plan to be submitted with a grant application. The website also includes sections for funder requirements and sample plans.
Capabilities of DMPTool by Access Level
Some features of DMPTool are accessible without logging in. Watch this short video to see how to:

Logging into the DMPTool
You can log into the DMPTool by using your SSO or by setting up a free individual account. Watch the following video for a demonstration of how to:
- Find DMS Plans shared by other researchers at your institution.
- Create a plan.
- Request feedback.
